Welcome to EFT 4 Riders!

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a self-applied acupressure-related stress relief technique that is gaining popularity in the world of sports performance.

Has a mishap with a horse become a recurring problem that you can’t seem to get past? When traditional confidence-restoring strategies fail, enormous frustration can build up, often producing harsh self-blame. If this is where you’ve been stuck, don’t give up. There is a “brain-science reason” for the stuck-ness where virtually nothing helps.

EFT 4 Riders explains this brain-body situation, and how EFT offers help from an unconventional angle. You’ll learn about riding trauma and EFT, and you’ll find some before and after stories. Welcome, and please come in!

Riding Trauma

Riding Trauma: Fight, Flight, Freeze and Discharge Responses

Learn what happens in the brain/body system when we experience trauma, and why we get stuck. Beyond the fight-flight and freeze responses, it’s the absence of the “discharge response” that leaves us with recurring fight/flight symptoms. Read more…

Pre-EFT Stories

“I was raised on a ranch in Texas and ridden all my life. But several years ago I had a few falls from my horse and was hurt pretty badly in the last one. Afterward I couldn’t bring myself to ride my  horse again. After months of struggle I finally sold him. I then bought a mare with a lovely disposition, but that accident was really holding me back. I was so totally frustrated by all the ‘brain freeze’ over even the smallest things.”

“I had a series of events with my gelding that completely destroyed my riding  confidence. I had tried everything else… read every book, took as many lessons and clinics as I could, practiced visualization, did calming exercises in and out of the saddle… nothing worked. It didn’t make sense. I began to feel like maybe I just wasn’t cut out for horses. Maybe, despite the passion that I felt, I just didn’t have what it took.”

“Working with Wedge was awesome – we knew that they would offer us a very strong framework and that it would be handled in a very organized and professional way. I couldn’t recommend them enough.”

“Our production had been ramped up to full time, but the profits just weren’t there. We didn’t know what we were doing wrong. Wedge showed us an amazing number of areas we could cut our overhead, from more efficient parts layout and energy-efficient lighting to recycling waste and more effective work flow.”
